Hector C. is a photographer working across portrait, editorial, campaign, and documentary. His practice is defined by technical clarity and emotional restraint — he finds the decisive moment without announcing that he's found it.
Over the past twelve years, he has shot for brands across beauty, fashion, and the built environment, as well as for editorial clients in the US, UK, and Europe. He works in natural light wherever the project allows it, and knows when it doesn't.
The Botanist — Campaign, 2024
The hero portrait for a botanical skincare launch, lit with two coloured gels against black. The brief was to make the ingredient story visible in the image rather than the caption — so the serum is on the skin and the plant is on the shoulders.
Halcyon — Campaign, 2025
Two days in a bare studio for a slow-fashion label: one sculptural gown made from a season of offcuts, photographed in black and white in light that didn't flatter but revealed. Every crease and raw edge left in.
Ashlar — Photography Direction, 2025
Portfolio photography for a boutique architecture studio. Focus on texture and light rather than furnished rooms — the kind of images that show how a building feels to inhabit, not just how it looks in a photograph.
Independent Work — Portrait Series, Ongoing
An ongoing portrait series: people photographed in the clothes they would choose to be remembered in. No stylist and no brief — one window, one roll of film, and however long the conversation takes.
Within the Collective
Hector typically leads on engagements requiring location photography, campaign portraiture, product work, and documentary coverage. He works closely with V. on visual direction and with the collective's art directors to ensure the photography serves the broader creative system rather than standing apart from it. On larger projects, he also oversees post-production and image selection to maintain visual coherence across a shoot's full output.
